Hello, students. Do you talk a lot about birthdays and your age with others? Today’s conversation topic is “How Old Are You?”. Imagine you’re talking asking others about their age. What would you say? What would others say? Here are a few suggestions:
— You’re at school and are talking with colleagues at lunch time. The conversation is about birthdays. You ask your colleagues how old they are. What would your colleagues say?
— Your friend invited you to her birthday party. You ask your friend her age. What would your friend say?
— You’re in the middle of the street and are asking people how old they are. People you ask seem to be upset by your question. What would you say to people on the street? What would people on the street tell you?
Normally, we ask people we know well about their age, while we don’t usually ask the age of women or people we don’t know well. Has anyone asked you about your age lately? What did you say?
