Do you like movies? Have you ever heard of the “Oscars” Academy Awards? Today’s conversation topic is “Academy Awards”. Imagine you’re talking about the Academy Awards in the English language. What would you say? What would others say? Here are a few suggestions.
— You’re in Hollywood, California, with your friends, cheering on as movie stars exit their cars, walk on the red carpet towards Dolby Theater, where the Academy Awards are held. What would you say to your friends? What would your friends say to you?
— You’re invited to an Academy Awards party, where your neighbors are watching the Academy Awards, drinking wine, and talking about the actors and the movies awarded. Suddenly, you’re asked who your favorite male actor is. How would you respond?
— You’re talking with your friends about Academy Awards nominated films, and you tell them about your favorite movie. What would you tell your friends?
Most people talk about movies, actors, and actresses in the United States of America. Which movie, actor, or actress would you like to talk about?

Do you travel a lot? Do you sometimes stay at a hotel overnight or for a longer stay? Today’s conversation topic is “At the Hotel”. Imagine you’re in the United States of America and you’re staying at a hotel. What would you say? What would others say? Here are a few suggestions:
— You’re in a hotel lobby, talking with the receptionist about a hotel room you’ve reserved. What would you tell the receptionist? What would the receptionist tell you?
— You’re not happy with the room that you were given and wish to change it. You ask to speak with the hotel manager. What would you tell the hotel manager? What would the hotel manager tell you?
— You’re at the hotel and want to know where the hotel restaurant is? You ask the concierge for directions. What would the concierge say?
Traveling and staying at hotels is something you need to plan for if you wish to travel outside of your country.

— The movie theater has uncomfortable chairs. You need to stretch out and walk. After you finish the movie, you talk with your date about going to a nearby park to stretch your legs. What would you say? What would your date say?
Many people go out to the movies during evenings. What do you do after the movies end? Do you go out walking, or do you eat out at a restaurant?
